OVERVIEW

This home’s public spaces were outdated, and the sunken floors chopped up the space. To fix this problem, we raised the front sitting room, dining, kitchen, and family room floors to one level. The existing kitchen was dated, closed off, and lacking adequate cabinet storage. We re-designed this kitchen, creating an island for seating, lots of cabinet storage, and adding a unique, custom hood. In the family room, we removed the old fireplace and added new stone, a walnut mantle, and built-in cabinets on each side of the new fireplace. The family room had plain, Sheetrock beams in the half-vaulted ceiling, so we wrapped them in a dark wood, giving them a warm, classic look. We selected more warm earth tones for all the new finishes and fixtures to keep the home’s traditional, Tuscan feel.
